Course Description

The THYROID is a small, butterfly-shaped organ located in the throat. As part of the endocrine system, it is responsible for secreting hormones that help balance mood, regulate metabolism, and maintain proper energy levels. When thyroid health becomes jeopardized, hormone imbalance occurs, causing many unpleasant symptoms within the body.

Thyroid problems affect over 20 million people, predominantly women, in the United States today. Approximately one in eight women will develop a thyroid problem.
